ERC Grants for two AI Center Researchers

The European Research Council, ERC for short, promotes outstanding scientists in order to encourage excellent basic research and visionary projects as well as to discover new interdisciplinary fields of knowledge. The ERC Grants are considered the European benchmark for top research.

Prof. Martin Grohe, head of the Chair of Computer Science 7 (Logic and Theory of Discrete Systems), has won an Advanced Grant. The Advanced Grants are among the most prestigious research awards of the European Union. They are awarded to established, leading principal investigators who want to secure long-term funding to pursue a ground-breaking, high-risk research project.

Prof. Michael Schaub, Junior Professor of Computational Network Science in the Department of Computer Science, has been awarded a Starting Grant. Applicants should have outstanding prior work and must submit the proposal no more than seven years after completing their PhD.
