Exploratory Research: 10 projects on AI, Simulation, and Data Science funded
Within the Exploratory Research Space (ERS) program, the RWTH AI Center, JARA-CSD, and the ICT Profile Area jointly proposed a call for exploratory research proposals combining Artificial Intelligence (AI), simulation, and data science in spring 2021. The call was issued to explore and further develop projects working on data-driven methods for real-world challenges.
Out of the numerous applications, the evaluation committee selected a total of 10 research proposals, for which 556.000 € of funding will be made available. The granted teams will now have the chance to explore novel methods and connections in this promising research landscape, strengthening the ties between key research disciplines within the RWTH AI Center. The highly interdisciplinary research proposals cover application areas such as medical imaging, early warning systems, and materials science. The teams start their work between October and December 2021. To kick-off this exciting collaboration, the AI Center hosted an introductory workshop for all successful applicants on November 2, 2021.
Congratulations to all teams!
